5 Essential Oils to Help With Stress




Essential Oils have super powers® and can help with so many aspects of our wellness.


They are derived from plants, and specific Essential Oils can give you relief from stress, anxiety, or depression. They create a natural balance in your body, helping you to heal.


Aromatherapy is the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic Essential Oils from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.



There are a few simple ways you can use essential oils. These are:


1. Taking a whiff of your favorite essential oil (aromatherapy), straight from its bottle or through a diffuser. Different types of diffusers can be used: ultrasonic, nebulizing (humidifying), evaporative or heat burners.


2. Adding it to your shower or bath (letting the steam bring you benefits as you inhale and as your skin absorbs the oils.)


REDUCE STRESS3. If diluted with a carrier oil, applying it topically.


Use 4-6 drops of your favorite essential oil in 3 tsp of carrier oil and apply.

Don’t forget to do a patch test on the skin before applying it all over.

Always put the essential oils in the dish or bottle first, then add carrier oil. It allows the essential oils to blend in well.


Here are five of my favorite essential oils to De-Stress!


1. Lavender

lavender_geranium_oilLavender is the most common Essential Oil used to treat anxiety or stress. It is extracted from lavender flowers via steam distillation. It has over 150 different nutrients which together create a healing effect.

Most people feel more relaxed when they breathe in the aroma of Lavender . It calms the brain waves.


2 . Roman Chamomile

8This Essential Oil is now established as an oil for reducing stress and sometimes muscle tension and insomnia. The oil is extracted from Chamomile flowers.


3. Clary Sage

Clary-Sage-OilClary Sage is another oil which reduces anxiety. There have been several studies using Clary Sage oil for treating anxiety with good results. Even though Clary Sage was used in a combination of other oils, the studies showed that it can act in reducing anxiety. It helps to calm the mind and body temporarily. Source

4. Neroli

timthumbNeroli oil is extracted from the Neroli flowers via steam distillation.

Neroli essential oil can help you get rid of chronic depression, drives away sadness, uplifts your mood, and invokes feelings of happiness and joy.

5. Rosemary

rosemaryRosemary essential oil is extracted from Rosemary flowers and acts as an excellent nerve and brain tonic. It helps with mental activity against depression, forgetfulness, and mental fatigue.

Some studies have also proved Rosemary oil can reduce stress by decreasing the cortisol levels in the saliva, which otherwise increase during stress.
